Art is a performance based discipline and it is important that our assessment practices are based off of each student’s individual efforts. Therefore, one of the graduation requirements for all senior art majors is to publicly exhibit a cohesive body of artworks developed above and beyond their typical classroom projects during their academic career at Missouri Southern. Typically these exhibitions are held at the MSSU Spiva Gallery with receptions that then showcase the students’ artistic accomplishments to the faculty evaluators as well as the public at large.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all face-to-face events on MSSU’s campus are limited to MSSU faculty, staff and students until further notice. Gallery hours are 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday–Thursday – and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Fridays.
Here, we have assembled the artworks and statements of our Spring 2021 graduating seniors for all to see the diversity of their approaches and the quality of their efforts.
